Grief is one of the most difficult and debilitating feelings we will ever experience as humans. Even though we have all experienced or will experience sadness at some time in our lives, it is one of the hardest emotions to fathom and comprehend. Luckily, The Alcove Center for Grieving Children & Families recognizes this in our community and does everything possible to lessen as much suffering as possible. For this reason, we want to continue supporting this noble organization in its ambitious efforts to help individuals and families during this difficult time.
The Alcove is here to help our community, especially during this unprecedented time in our country’s history. Individual teletherapy for grieving, loss, and trauma is available. They also run bereavement peer support groups with the goal of turning sadness and loss into hope and healing. In 2001, two therapists created the group. Each meeting space is meant to be welcoming and pleasant to provide families with a secure and supportive environment to communicate their sorrow and loss.
